Smell The Roses And Hem Your Day In Prayer - it will prepare you to scale the mountains

For most of us the school year is going at full speed as of now, and it can be overwhelming at times to think about all the ground we have to cover in a year. It is important to have long term goals, and know where we are supposed to end up by May/June of 2020. At the same time, it is important to make stops along the way where we can lower our shoulders and take in our surroundings, and our lives. " Stop and smell the roses " moments are invaluable. Remind yourself, and each other, this is not a sprint but a marathon. We are in it for the long haul.

If areas and subjects end up not being covered in the order you intended or had planned for, due to various reasons ( believe me - it happens ! ) it is not the end of the world. You will be able to recover the ground. Much because of exactly the pause times, the change it up days, and breathers. I encourage you to purposefully add them into your schedule. Those times will give you new strength, inspiration and a fresh look at things. Maybe even the solution you were looking for but could not find in all the busyness.

More than any other pause time, I really encourage you to pause and pray. If there is one thing I have learned after being in this journey of homeschooling for some time, ( we are in our 9th year ), it is that prayer really does work, and is a game changer. If I forget our prayer time in the morning my kids will let me know point blank: " mom, you know the reason we are having such a frazzled day is because we did not pray." They are right. The saying really is true " a day hemmed in prayer does not easily unravel." ( quote unknown. ) Best of blessings on your school year. Here at HIS 43:19 we are praying for you and believing in you. Take heart, you can scale the mountain!
